Makan-makan: The Burger Shop

Best Blogger Tips
Craving for some burger for supper?

Here's one good one.
As recommended by Razif from 8tv's Best in the World!
Check out the menu. A long one.

Don't know how it looks like? Check out it's catalogues >.<
Don't know which to choose?

Try Mushroom Burger (right). The superstar of The Burger Shop. Another burger we tried that night was Black Pepper Lamb Burger; it was good as well.

The mushroom burger was really good. The sauce was thick and served with mushroom slices. HMM! Gorgeous. It may look undelicious and unappetizing but it really tastes good. Oh ya. You will end up with sauces all over the place, from your face to your fingers and you may want to lick up all the dripping sauces. HMM!
My mum was shocked when she saw us eating and curiously asked "Why is the sauce separated from the burger?"
Hahaha..it's actually dripped sauce from the burger, mom!

Anyway, some called it Burger Banjir. So, I guess, everyone has the same (fun) experience enjoying the famous burger near Asia Cafe.

Makan-makan: Meng Kee Char Siew

Best Blogger Tips
Dear Char Siew Lovers,

This is the best Char Siew I ever tasted so far. The best! Present to you, Meng Kee Char Siew.

Sausage on the top left, char siew in the middle and fresh cucumbers.

Soft and juicy in the inside, crunchy in the outside. The sauce was perfect and the char siew was well grilled. The first bite made me go HMMM...and it goes on and on till the last bite. *SLURPS*

Anyhow, each plate costs RM8. Pretty expensive, but I think it's worth every penny. *Thumbs up!!*

Makan-makan: Gong-Cha

Best Blogger Tips
More Pearl Milk Tea franchises in town. It may not be new, but more and more in shopping complexes.

While Chatime is expanding their outlet on monthly basis, Gong Cha is also being seen in town.

Look at the queue........
Green Tea with pearl (left) and Winter Melon Tea with white pearl (right) [RM5.90 +RM2{white pearl}]

I tried both, Gong Cha and Chatime. And this is my conclusion.
In terms of variety, Chatime wins it all. Chatime has over 50 choices while Gong Cha is more limited.
In terms of pearl, Chatime wins the game. Chatime's pearl is more chewy.

HOWEVER, Gong Cha tastes good if you want to try something new. The white layer at the top of the cup, that's the so called 'milk moustache'. It tastes a little bit of sourish which I first thought it was tasteless.
Next, the white pearl. The white pearl actually tastes like nata de coco but it wasnt as chewy as the nata de coco. Not sure what was tat but it is definitely worth trying.
If you like milky tea, Gong Cha will be your favourite. Once you stir the tea and the milk together, you will get a completely different taste from the same cup of beverage. You will know what I mean once you try one. Check out the 3-rules of Gong-Cha.

Makan-makan: V.I, Klang

Best Blogger Tips
Another round of good food in Klang. :-D

The famous Roti Canai. Situated in a very much rural area of Klang, this place claims to serve the best roti canai in town. And I tell you. It is so true. I've tasted it and it was good.

A roti canai [RM1.20 each] (roti kosong) is already good. Compared to the traditional roti canai, this roti canai is thin in every layer and much crunchier in every bite even if it's served cold. Whether you eat it hot or not, they still taste GOOD. The gravy is also another reason for this. The gravies (dahl, fish and chicken curry) are thick and when it is served with the crunchy roti canai, hmmm!

Besides the roti kosong, we tried Roti Telur, equally good. Probably because they use the same dough. Nasi Lemak was great as well. The fried chicken, nothing to shout about. :(

This is simply my favourite Roti Canai ever!

Makan-makan: Pin Chou, Klang

Best Blogger Tips
Screwed up. Posts on Perth still not up yet. It has been 4 months since I came back from Perth. Anyway, I'll just skip that for now, and let me start with some good food.

Well this one, something I get addicted with. Lao Shu Fen in Restaurant Pin Chou (槟州小食中心). Other than the famous Port Klang Tang Yuan (港口汤圆), something else with history as old as me is the Lao Shu Fen.

It was said that this Lao Shu Fen has been in Klang for ages. It was first sold in Klang's Great Wall Emporium (now known as Emporium Makan Klang) many many years ago. Now sold in Pin Chou. It used to attract attention from food lovers who will travel from all over the places just for at least 2-3 bowls of Lao Shu Fen.

I love the minced pork of the Lao Shu Fen but the texture of the Lao Shu Fen itself has lost it's fame. *Sad

Anyway, besides the Tong Yuan, try this. Pin Chou looks like an ordinary hawker stall except the employees use PDA to take orders for drinks. Not many small restaurants do that.

Restaurant Pin Chou (槟州小食中心)
112, Jalan Pekan Baru, Kawasan 17 off Jalan Meru, 41050 Klang.
